01 — Origin
João Maciel spent twenty years at the Boston Consulting Group, the last as a Managing Director and Partner. Every engagement ended the same way: the slides were delivered, the recommendations accepted, and the methodology left with the team that built it. The next time the question came up, the client called again.
Rafael Marmelo has seventeen years of engineering experience, ten of them on the founding engineering team at Feedzai, building systems that handle billions of transactions per year for the world's largest banks and utilities. Math had to be right every time, numbers had to be auditable, and the system had to be explainable to regulators.
Advisor is the product they built when they realized they had been working on two halves of the same problem.
